PRAXIS PACIFIC

Praxis exists to help people connect with and serve their community.
Our vision is to equip youth workers with skills and values that will help them bring about positive change in the young people they work alongside.
Praxis provides accredited courses and short workshops in youth development. Learning experiences provided by the Praxis team are based on a philosophy that suggests we learn best when we act and then reflect on our practice.
Praxis is a network of experienced practitioners in youth work and Christian mission. The network operates across the Pacific Islands, Australia and in New Zealand. Praxis operates in the Pacific Islands as Ola Fou, a Samoan word that means ‘new life’.
Our aim is to teach, mentor and encourage the next generation of people who will make a difference with their lives.
The content of Praxis courses is based around the Circle of Courage, an indigenous approach to youth development. It suggests that all young people, whatever their culture or situation, will flourish when they are surrounded by a supportive network of adults who meet four essential developmental needs; the need to belong, to master skills, to learn independence and responsibility, and the need to act generously.
Sign up here if you would like us to update you about the Praxis Community will also provide updates on people, prayer needs and issues (includes Australia and the Pacific).
